The ring main unit is composed of bus room, load switch (or circuit breaker room), cable room, operating mechanism, interlocking mechanism and low-voltage control room. Each compartment is divided by steel plate to avoid failure affecting the adjacent room.
The bus room is arranged in the upper part of the cabinet body, with horizontally arranged busbars for easy expansion. The load switch room features SF6 gas as arc extinguishing and insulating medium, with transparent end covers for observing contact states.
